American Gospel: Christ Crucified

Phenomenal documentary. Hands down. 

In this film, the filmmaker sets his sights on the latest iteration of a movement which is broadly known as "Progressive Christianity" and seeks to compare its tenants with Scripture. A journey through the lens of three people's faith in three different perspectives. 

Personally, there are five factors I learned and I want to highlight in this film.

1. The doctrine of the Penal Substitutionary Atonement is non-negotiable. Denying it is denying the very heart of the gospel.

2. Every bible-student Christian should learn the doctrine of the Covenant of Redemption.

3. Accurate biblical clarifications of the theologians in this film. (Paul Washer's explanations and illustrations are just on point. Loved the guy).

4. Take out SOLA SCRIPTURA and you'll find yourself in a slippery slope of mysticisms and heresies.

5. Alistair Begg's voice in narrating most of the Scriptures is just pure gold. 

Highly recommended documentary. A must watch for every Christian.
