Effectual Calling

If I'm left on my own, I wouldn't choose Him nor I have the ability to choose Him. My heart is wicked. My mind is immoral. I am a man of unclean lips. How can a vile wretched unholy man choose a holy righteous infinite God? 

"But God..." That's the answer! 

God orchestrated.

God initiated.

God started.

If my salvation rests on my hand, immediately I would have lost it. He saved me not because of me. Not what I've been, what I've done, what I will do, or who I am. But because of Him! Because of Him! On who He is! 

And when the Lord calls me home, the time when I finally come to my deathbed, I can say,

"I am what I am by the grace of God."
