The Joy In Suffering

Do we only give thanks & glory to the Lord in times of abundance? When health is very well? When everything is going out the way we want it to?

Are we only grateful for the Lord because of the favors & blessings that He has bestowed upon us?

What about in suffering? In moments of afflictions? When scarcity is the only ceiling above? When all hell breaks loose in our lives? 

Just like Job - are we still able to say, 

"The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD."
